Best Time to Visit for Safari Activities

Dry Season (June - October)

Optimal Wildlife Viewing

The dry season offers the best wildlife viewing conditions with less vegetation and more concentrated animal populations around water sources. This is when the Great Migration typically reaches the northern Serengeti and attempts river crossings.

Weather Conditions

Clear skies, minimal rainfall, and cooler temperatures make for comfortable safari conditions. Morning and evening game drives are particularly pleasant during this time.

Recommended Activities

Perfect for game drives, walking safaris, hot air balloon rides, and cultural visits. Wildlife photography is excellent during the dry season.

Wet Season (November - May)

Lush Landscapes

The wet season brings lush green landscapes and newborn wildlife. Birdwatching is exceptional during this time with migratory species present.

Calving Season

January-March is the peak calving season in the southern parks, offering excellent predator-prey interactions and photography opportunities.

Recommended Activities

Ideal for bird watching, cultural tours, and experiencing the green landscapes. Fewer crowds and lower prices during this season.

Frequently Asked Questions

1: What is the best time to visit for safari activities?

The best time for safari activities is during the dry season from June to October when wildlife viewing is optimal. However, the parks are beautiful year-round, with green landscapes during the wet season (November to May).

2: What should I pack for safari activities?

Pack light, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, beige), a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable walking shoes, binoculars, and a camera. A light jacket is recommended for early morning and evening game drives. For luxury accommodations, bring elegant evening wear for dining experiences.

3: Are safari activities suitable for children?

4: What are the chances of seeing the Big Five?

Ngorongoro Crater has excellent chances of seeing the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino). Serengeti, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire also offer good opportunities for seeing most of the Big Five. While wildlife viewing is never guaranteed, our experienced guides maximize your chances.

5: What type of accommodation is included?

Accommodation is included in selected luxury lodges/camps in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and near Ngorongoro. We offer options from budget to luxury lodges. Please specify your preference when booking, and we'll confirm availability and pricing.

Yes, all meals are included from breakfast on day 1 to dinner on day 7. We provide packed lunches during game drives and dinners at your accommodation. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated if notified in advance.

7: What is the group size for safari activities?

Our safari activity vehicles accommodate a maximum of 6-7 passengers to ensure everyone has a window seat and optimal viewing experience. Private activities are available at an additional cost.
