Drive to Rongai Gate and begin the trek through rainforest. 4–5 hours hike to Rongai Cave campsite (2,700 m).

The best time for this climb is during the dry season from June to October when weather conditions are optimal. However, the mountain can be climbed year-round with proper preparation. January-March is also a good time with warmer temperatures.
Pack light, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, beige), a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable walking shoes, binoculars, and a camera. A light jacket is recommended for early morning and evening game drives. For climbing, bring warm layers, waterproof outer shell, thermal underwear, hiking boots, gaiters, gloves, and a headlamp.
Yes, this climb is suitable for children aged 10 and above. Children under 10 may find the long drives and camping experience challenging. Please inform us in advance if traveling with young children so we can make necessary arrangements.
